FAQ

GenAI Activities enable you to integrate artificial intelligence capabilities directly into your automation workflows. They support various use cases including policy translation for global teams, detecting customer query languages for multilingual support, and contract drafting with internal guidelines.

GenAI Activities may fail for several reasons. Common issues include model availability problems, suboptimal outputs, or configuration issues. Check that your models are properly selected and that you have the appropriate licensing requirements in place.

Model availability can be restricted based on your tenant configuration, regional settings, or licensing tier. Additionally, for activities like Categorize, Named Entity Recognition, or Object Detection, you cannot manually select a model—these use predetermined model assignments.

Context Grounding allows you to provide additional context to improve the accuracy and relevance of GenAI Activity outputs. This feature helps tailor responses to your specific organizational needs and use cases.

Yes, UiPath supports integration with your own cloud service instances such as Azure OpenAI, allowing you to leverage your existing AI infrastructure.

You can set up human-in-the-loop processes to validate GenAI Activity outputs before they're used in your automation, ensuring quality control and allowing for manual review when needed.

All GenAI Activity calls are routed through the UiPath AI Trust Layer, which provides governance controls and audit capabilities. You can use the AI Trust Layer Automation Ops policy to disable GenAI Activities for specific tenants or hide them entirely for particular groups or users in your organization.

GenAI Activities require specific licensing arrangements. UiPath uses an AI Units licensing model for AI products, which replaced the previous AI Robots approach. Different capabilities consume AI Units at different rates depending on usage patterns.

To build an AI Agent, navigate to cloud.uipath.com and select the Agents option. Choose "Build your agent" to access UiPath Agent Builder, where you can define the agent's logic, set up arguments, and connect tools built as RPA flows that perform real UI actions. You can use Autopilot to assist with building the agent.

UiPath Agentic AI supports multiple models including OpenAI's GPT-4.1 (default), Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini, allowing you to choose the model that best fits your use case.

Agentic AI includes several tools for automation development: ScreenPlay for UI interaction, Autopilot for intelligent assistance, and Maestro for workflow orchestration. These work together to enable AI-powered automation workflows.

AI Units represent the new licensing approach for all AI products in UiPath, replacing the previous AI Robots model. Pipelines and deployed ML Skills consume AI Units regardless of whether automation is actively running.
